Dean Karnazes

29 DOWN, 21 TO GO… Thats right... Crazy man Dean Karnazes is doing 50 marathons in 50 days in 50 states! Scott was invited to run with him this past sunday in Boston- for those of you interested Dean will be running the Maine Marathon Tuesday the 17th in Portland. Take your lunch break at 11:30 and go to the finish line to meet Dean and watch the finish!
Stats:
Boston Marathon, Massachusetts
Number of Runners: 50 (filled to capacity)
Time: 3:59:27
Weather: 58 degrees, partly cloudy(more like 38 at 8am when we were all waiting for the start!)

If you want to find scott look for the only pair of bull horns.

Boston was totally nuts, in a good way. The group swelled from 50 to over 100 at a point, with people jumping in left and right to join in. At the start of the race channel 4 news and the Framingham paper interviewed scott and another man for the news that day! That was amusing to watch! ha!

Runners came from Texas, California, Florida, Canada, Maine and Israel. There were about 6 first-time marathoners, and one runner was celebrating her 100th marathon! A large crowd gathered at the start, and with a cute countdown from Dean 2 kids -they headed down the road, fall colors in full scale .
The Boston Marathon is traditionally held in the spring, and running the course in the fall with the leaves changing is pretty cool.

When they rounded the final corner and headed toward the finish at Copley Square, the size of the crowd that had gathered was pretty big! Me being in it of course! There were people waving signs, television cameras, the police sirens blaring, and lots cheering spectators. They all came across the finish as a team, holding hands and looking like a million bucks!

Afterward Dean led everyone up to CitySports where the runners got signed books from him, pictures, awards of completion, frames, and pretty cool goody bags! It was worth checking out! Scott was very proud of himself for finishing it! As am I of course! but all in all it was a really good time!

Pictures of our Saturday's events coming shortly....
