Florida- what a vacation- it was 90-96 everyday and not a cloud in the sky!! I did get a super tan… it will probably peel though- I don’t think I drank enough water!
We left Tuesday night at 8pm.. and arrived in the Magic Kingdom on Wednesday night around 9pm…
yes we are crazy- we drove right through from Maine.Ok so-
Day #1- (Thursday AM) Doug and hanna went out for a run ( we are talking like 8AMish here) hanna came back around 9 and doug was just going to do some more interval training and would be back shortly.. well we started cooking breakfast and a little golf cart with a Disney employee pulls up and says…
’you guys know doug?’
‘Uh- yea why?’
‘He’s been in an accident.’
‘What?!>?!>>!that was all the info we got- now b/c he had been running – we assumed that an accident meant like hit by a golf cart/car)
Hanna goes and then comes back like 45 minutes later to get his ID and what not because…
He had gone into the bathroom and ended up passing out and knocking his 2 front teeth out- they took him to the Disney hospital (Celebration) and then to an oral surgeon…
So their first day was spent in the hospital… while scott and I just sorta hung out at the pool and took a long walk to explore and what not.
In case you are wondering (
they wired his teeth back in but they are both chipped and the roots probably wont take so he has to get falsies)Day #2- Friday- We went to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot (Doug and Hanna only made it through part of magic kingdom and then left us cause she had to find somewhere to eat)
So scott and I tooled around from like 11:30am- 7pm!!! We must have walked about 20 miles! LOL at least this time our bodies were better prepared (

postcards/40206A?OpenDocument&CBE0ABIn Epcot we stopped and ate in Italy, which was very nice... and we got a coffee in Canada. Scott tried on a lovely hat in China.. it was a blast! Plus it was their garden show so the flowers were awesome!
Oh and of course we went on a bunch of rides… ;)
Day #3- Saturday-
I hit up the pool for like 4 hours 9:45am- 2ish. Scott and Doug trained for most of the morning and then joined Hanna and I at the pool.
Later Scott and I went out to dinner at the campground restaurant. It was good enough LOL … and we also watched the light show and fireworks that go on every night at 9:45- it was pretty cool. I definitely scorched my skin… but its nice and tan now!
Day #4- Sunday-
FORD IRONMAN 70.3… 1.2 miles Swim, 56 Mile Bike, 13.1 Run- all through Disneys Fort Wilderness Campground (where we stayed) from 6am- 2pm Hanna and I were at the race watching and what not. (well I didn’t get up with all of them at 6… I slept till 8 and then got ready and stood at the bus stop by our site b/c that’s where the runners looped by so I got to see Doug and Scott and this other Mainer Lynn.) RESULTS: Doug finished in 4:40- he qualified for the world championship Full Ironman in Clearwater this November. Goooooooooo Doug!
Scott finished in 6:05 for his age group he was smack in the middle of the ranks and for overall as well… there were about 2200 people in the race and he finished around 1010 … so Congrats Boys you did great! Especially for a 96 degree day.
We all went in the pool from like 3-4 and then doug and hanna went out to eat and we cooked for ourselves at the site. We took a little spin around (you can rent golf carts, the place is HUGE!) to cool off later and went down to the beach to watch the fire works again.
Monday morning we packed up and booked it out of there LOL
24 HOURS in the car is a long time. But it was alright I suppose. I finished two books… so that was happy.
